REGISTRATION INFORMATION

The following must be accomplished in conjunction with attendance at the Police and Fire Chaplain Training Academy .
A Progress Sheet (linked) with instructions as to how to register over the internet is available to assist in registration actions.

1. Registration Form (linked to form)

2. Current Background Check

In order to attend the Academy you must have a current background check. Such a check may be accomplished at your local police department. Any costs incurred are the responsibility of the chaplain registering for the Academy.

3. Twelve Hours of Direct Contact - Practical Experience Journal (linked to form)

The Police and Fire Chaplain's Training Academy is meant to be a practical experience for those who attend. In order to gain an understanding of what it means to serve in the police and fire environments twelve direct contact hours are to be accomplished. Said hours are to be in blocks of time of no less than four hours per session. Such experiences are to be documented on the form supplied in the registration package.

4. Experience Self Appraisal (linked to form)

As a part of the registration process an experience appraisal will be completed by each registrant. Such data as is gathered will be used by the training staff to make the training more meaningful to the members of the training class.

5. FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS:

Current Fees: Tuition ($375),  Food ($125), Total Cost ($500). (Click for Housing info)

The fees are used to cover the following items:

Tuition and Course Notebook.

Meals are arranged and paid for through PFCTA.

They may be handled as follows:

Personally pay for the Academy.
Attend on a department purchase order.

Note: No matter how finances are arranged, they remain the responsibility of the attending chaplain.
